Purpose

Considerable investment to the public realm has
continued to be made in Altrincham as part of
its regeneration proposals for the Town Centre. The current phase
of the project includes part of Regent Road, George Street and
Market Street and is an extension of the already completed
regeneration of the Historic Market Quarter and a number of other areas around the town centre. Work
being carried out on Regent Road and Market Street includes
carriageway resurfacing, introduction of modular hard paved areas
and segregation of cyclist and vehicular traffic. Overall, the
finished project is aimed to improve the aesthetics and feel for
the Town Centre in a post-Covid time with the objective of
improving footfall and complimenting other developments within the
local area (such as the Regent Road car park).

The
proposals for both Market Street and Regent Road are shown on
Drawing No’s. E9278-05 to 08 below.
