Barton Road, Davyhulme - Pedestrian Crossing Notice: Proposed Toucan Crossing
July 15, 2024 Corporate Director Place (Officer) Approved View on council websiteFull council record
Purpose
Following a number of
historical concerns regarding the lack of a safe pedestrian and
cycling crossing facility on Barton Road, close to the Trafford
Retail Park, it is proposed to introduce a Toucan Crossing south of
the Neary Way Roundabout to link the residential communities and
amenities of Urmston with the Retail Park.
In
addition, a Section 106 agreement pursuant to planning approval
98770/VAR/19 (Trafford Retail Park) required that a funding
contribution be secured for the design and completion of off-site
highway works including improving the Neary Way roundabout together
with the introduction of a Toucan Crossing across Barton
Road.
Decision
1)
That authorisation is given to advise the community,
via a Pedestrian Crossing Notice, of the introduction of the Toucan
Crossing shown on drawing CO00201563-AMEY-BR-DR-1200-01.
2)
That should no objections be maintained;
authorisation be given to introduce a Toucan Crossing.
3)
That any objections maintained be reported back to
Members for consideration.
