Moss Road / Keswick Road / Fleming Drive, Stretford - Prohibition of Waiting and Prohibition of Driving Traffic Regulation Orders
September 24, 2024 Executive Member for Highways, Environmental, and Traded Services (Cabinet member) Approved View on council websiteFull council record
Purpose
Trafford Council has received several complaints
from both local councillors and the community with regards to
inconsiderate and nuisance parking caused by the operation of local
businesses in the vicinity of Moss Road, Stretford. The result of
this behaviour has led to resident frustration and further
investigations by the Council’s Environmental Improvement
team into the complaints relating to untaxed and uninsured vehicles
on the public highway and there has been a history of fly-tipping
and anti-social behaviour on the bridge over the Bridgwater
canal.
The
proposal seeks to introduce both ‘No Waiting at Any
Time’ and ‘Prohibition of Driving’ Traffic
Regulation Orders to deter the reported parking issues and to
improve accessibility for residents along with more generalised
access for pedestrians and motorists alike.
The
formal consultation took place on 26th June 2024 and
four objections were received, the main reason for the objections
was that the proposals would reduce available parking outside their
properties, and one suggested an increase in the limited waiting on
Barton Road from 1 hour to 2 hours.
Having considered the objections received, approval is sought to
introduce the scheme as shown on drawing E9258-001 Rev3.
Decision
1)
That the results of the consultation and objections
received, be noted.
2)

objections and comments received, authorisation be given to make
and implement the Order as advertised and shown on drawing number
E9258-001 Rev3 and in the schedule contained within the
report.
3)
That the objectors be informed of the decision
made.
