Full council record

Purpose

The Council has been contacted by residents and Ward
Members to address road safety issues on Wythenshawe Road,
Sale, in particular, associated with the
‘sharp bend’ at the junction with New Hall
Road.
In 2018
at the junction of Old Hall Road, work was undertaken to reduce
vehicle speeds when entering Wythenshawe Road and in more recent
years, improved signage has been installed. There have been 5
collisions in the last 5 years resulting in personal injury with 1
reported as fatal at the junction of Wythenshawe Road and
Worthington Road.
The
proposal seeks to introduce a speed table located on the bend at
its junction with New Hall Road to help reduce vehicle speeds on
this road. Also, the introduction of No Waiting at Any Time
restriction to prevent vehicles parking on the bend maintaining
visibility for all users.
The
proposals can be seen on drawing number E9357-03 and detailed in
the schedules appended to this report.
