Purpose

To allow the construction of Wharfside Metrolink Stop and No. 1 Old Trafford
(residential apartments), a Prohibition of Driving Traffic Order
was implemented on a section of Trafford Wharf Road and Wharf End
along with various waiting and loading restrictions. A section of
waiting and loading restrictions were omitted from the original
proposal on the north side of Trafford Wharf Road to facilitate the
construction of No. 1 Old Trafford. 

A set
of proposals has previously been considered that included cashless
parking on Trafford Wharf Road and Wharf End. However, it has
subsequently been identified that further development in the area,
aligned to the recently published Wharfside Masterplan will likely impact on this area.
Therefore,

the revised set of proposals
identified in this report are to be promoted to address the
existing key parking issues that affect road safety on Trafford
Wharf Road, and also on Elevator
Road. 
The
proposals are shown on drawings numbered E9397-01 and E9397-02 and
detailed in the schedules within this report.

Decision

1.   
That authorisation be given to advertise the
intention to introduce the Traffic Regulation Order as detailed in
the Schedules to this report and that, if no objections are
maintained, the Order be made and implemented in whole or in part,
as soon as is practicable.
 
2.   
That any objections maintained be reported back for
consideration.
