Decision

RESOLVED that UDC decline LAHF4 scheme delivery within either one or three years and use the circa £850k of commuted sums for UDC’s own schemes with the aim of delivering additional new council home delivery prior to 1 April 2028. 

Reasons for the decision

Cabinet approval was received on 15 January 2026 to proceed with acquiring four properties via the LAHF4 scheme during the 2026/27 and 2027/28 financial years using LAHF4 grant monies and commuted sums. MHCLG have now advised that scheme delivery needs to be within either 12 months or 3 years, rather than 2 years.
