RESOLVED to acquire the leasehold interest in 33 Manor Road, Stansted at an agreed price of £215,000, undertake appropriate void works and let it as general needs accommodation at a social rent. 

Reasons for the decision

The report requested approval from Cabinet to acquire the leasehold interest (by leasehold reversion) in a former UDC 2-bedroom flat located in Manor Road, Stansted for £215,000 using retained Right to Buy (RTB) receipts. UDC are the freeholder of the blocks in Manor Road, Stansted and acquiring the leasehold interest in this 2-bedroom flat would allow it to be added to the Council’s stock and let at a social rent as general needs housing to a household in priority need on the council’s Housing Register.
