RESOLVED to approve the draft Essex Local Nature
Recovery Strategy document for public consultation.

Reasons for the decision

The Environment Act introduced Local
Nature Recovery Strategies and mandatory biodiversity net gain.
This report provides an update on the consultation process for the
draft Essex Local Nature Recovery Strategy (LNRS).  The council is a ‘Supporting
Authority’ to the Essex public consultation on the draft LNRS
and Essex County Council (ECC) as ‘Responsible
Authority’ require UDC executive member sign off by 15th
July, ahead of ECC launching the 8 week public consultation. UDC
officers including the Principal Ecologist have reviewed and input
into the draft Essex LNRS.
