Purpose
To approve the purchase of the current waste
fleet
(and for South to approve the approve the
capital budget being moved from provision to approved)
Decision
RESOLVED:
a)
That Cabinet recognises the role of the Joint Scrutiny Committee in
calling in the original decision and thanks the Committee for
meeting on 01 December 2025 to discuss this issue and making their
recommendations for consideration.
b)
That Cabinet recognises that any decision on the purchase of waste
vehicles needs to be aligned with that taken by South.
c)
That Cabinet approves the estimated cost of the vehicles is
£2.070 million, of which £1.035 million will be funded
by the council, and the remainder funded by South Oxfordshire
District Council in accordance with the agreed cost sharing
mechanism. Subject to their agreement, South will award of a
contract to Dennis Eagle via a Crown Commercial Services framework
for 8 x 26 tonne refuse collection vehicles and 1 x 18 tonne narrow
refuse collection vehicle, and invoice the council for its share of
the cost
