Decision

The parent governor for Ronald
Ross Primary School referred to paragraph 5 on page 4 of the
minutes, and expressed concern that the minutes suggested that the
Council had to explain the spreadsheet to her and that after the
explanation she was satisfied with the answer, which was not the
case.  She had previously noted that the finance spreadsheet
template was ineffective and had questioned how schools could
approve their budget without knowing the previous year’s
budget. 
 
It was agreed that the Director
of Business and Resources (Children’s Services) would meet
with the parent governor representative to go through the issues
raised.
 
RESOLVED – the minutes of
the meeting of the Schools Forum held on
13th May 2024 were agreed as a correct record, subject to the
amendment of paragraph 5 on page 4 of the minutes to read as
“The parent governor for Ronald
Ross Primary School raised queries about the finance spreadsheet
provided to schools, and Council officers agreed to take this away
and look at it with the Parent Governor.”
