Purpose

Watford Borough Council provided pest control
services for TRDC area, in addition to Watford residents and
businesses until April 2024 when the contract wasn't renewed. TRDC
took the decision to no longer provide any pest control
services.
As a result WBC had to review our pest control services as they
were no longer sustainable and would require increased annual
revenue contributions to continue with a similar level of service.
A service review was undertaken to explore options for future
delivery options and to enable consideration of the service costs
in light of the ongoing financial challenges of the council. The
objective was to continue to provide sustainable and reliable pest
control services to those who are vulnerable, at least cost to the
council.

Decision

Options 3 was agreed on the basis that this
offered the most reliable, sustainable, cost effective service
delivery for the future.
