Purpose

To
inform the Parking Lead Officer, following the decision of Cabinet
(7th October 2024) endorsed by Council (15th
October 2024), to increase the fees and charges in relation to A)
Four car parks within the Borough, namely:- The Avenue, Town Hall,
Longspring & The Harebreaks B) on street pay and display
location on St Albans Road an C) Controlled Parking Zone Vouchers
and D) Controlled Parking Zone Permits. 
 

To seek
authorisation to publish “Notices of Variations” in
relation to the above four order. That the amendments of fees and
prices take effect from 6th January 2025, except for the
Item D - Controlled Parking Zone Permits. As such permits are
annual, and were last increased in June 2024 it is deemed fair and
proportionate that these not be increased until June
2025.
 

To seek
authorisation to display a notice of proposal in the local press,
on the Council Website, in relation to the above four notices and
additionally on site within the four car parks: The Town Hall Car
Park, The Avenue Car Park, Longspring Car Park and The Harebreaks
Car Park.

Decision Summary

 
1.    
That “Notices of Variations” are
published in the local paper and on the Council website in November
2024 in relation to the above-named orders. That the amendments of
fees and prices in relation to Items A, B and C take effect from
6th January 2025,
 

2.    
That “Notices of Variations” be
displayed on site, within the four car parks where prices will be
amended The Town Hall Car Park, The Avenue Car Park, Longspring Car Park and The Harebreaks Car
Park.
 

3.    
That “Notices of Variations” are
published in the local paper and on the Council website in June
2025 in relation to Item D,
