Guildford & Waverley Joint Senior Staff Committee

The Guildford & Waverley Joint Senior Staff Committee is responsible for making decisions regarding the appointment, disciplinary actions, and other employment matters for senior officers shared between Guildford Borough Council and Waverley Borough Council. This includes the Joint Chief Executive, Joint Chief Officers, and Joint Deputy Chief Officers.

The committee handles recruitment and selection processes, determines terms and conditions of employment, and considers pension discretions. While the committee undertakes these processes, final decisions on appointments and dismissals are reserved for each individual council, subject to no material objections. The committee also considers financial settlements for unsuccessful candidates and manages ad-hoc employment issues.
