Purpose

Delivery of decent and affordable homes is one of the
Corporate Priorities of the Council. The report and associated
exempt annexes, considered by Executive on 1 April 2025 provided
detail of three opportunities to acquire new homes on sites being
developed under ‘S106’ planning legal
agreements.
 
The sites are in Farnham, Chiddingfold and Hindhead and
will deliver 26 new affordable sustainable homes for those in
housing need.
 
Full Council met on 23 April 2025 and approved a total
budget of £7,520,000 to fund the acquisition of 26 new
affordable homes in accordance with the business cases set out in
Exempt Annexes 1 (a-c) of the report submitted to
Council.  With the budget in place the
delegation within the Executive Decision above can be
implemented.

To negotiate and enter intoall contractual, pre-contractual
and other documentation with developers and other third parties as
required for the acquisition of the properties covered by this
report, provided all such actions are in accordance with the
approved budget.
