Content
The Council’s Grounds Maintenance
operation is being insourced from 1st November 2025. Waverley
Borough Council will assume full control of the depot from this
date. The existing salt barn/building requires a new secure
operational roller shutter for security purposes.
The installation of a functional and secure roller shutter will
provide additional security to the site.
The value of the contract will be fixed at £7,752.00 and it
will be valid from 10 October 2025 until 1 December 2025
Reasons for the decision
To enhance site security at the depot as part
of the insourcing project for the Council’s Grounds
Maintenance provision, allow storage of equipment in a secure area
and the prevention of roosting birds within the facility which
would in turn present a health & safety risk.
Alternative options considered
To not carry out the installation of the
roller shutter. This would mean the building in question would not
be secure and any contents such as tools and machinery would be
stored at risk. There would also be a high probability of pigeons
roosting within the roof structure which could damage the roof and
create a bird droppings issue within a work site.
