To use 'Modern Polling' a technology solution
in polling stations at the Shadow Unitary Authority elections on 7
May 2026 and any other unscheduled electoral events in 2026. The
solution provides for digital processing of electors, instant and
accurate record keeping and post-election reporting to regulators
and others. In addition it allows on polling day for real-time
monitoring of polling place turnout / occurrences and at the close
of poll for prompt production of accounts needed for the election
count.

Alternative options considered

None - The supplier (Modern Democracy Ltd) is
experienced in providing like services to the Returning Officer
where effective, accurate, and efficient compliance with electoral
law is essential.
