Decision

The existing play area only has fencing around some of the perimeter. The local community have provided feedback on numerous occasions indicating a need and desire for the whole play area to have fencing around it. As a result the Council has agreed to award a contract for the installation of additional metal play area fencing and two self-closing gates.

Reasons for the decision

Three quotations for the supply and installation of metal playground fencing and two self-closing gates have been obtained and the Council wishes to award the works and enter into a contract with the contractor whose quotation represented the best value for money.

Alternative options considered

An alternative option would have been to have chosen not to install additional fencing and gate however it was felt that in the interests of the public installing additional fencing and gates would be the logical option.
