Purpose

To approve increasing hackney carriage fares from September 2026 following receipt of objections during the statutory consultation.

Decision

The Cabinet Portfolio Holder has decided to:

Vary hackney carriage fares from 7 September 2026, in accordance with the fare card at Appendix A.

Reasons for the decision

As set out in the associated report.

Alternative options considered

1.     To vary the fares as set out in Appendix A.

2.     To consider an alternative date for implementation, not later than two months after the first specified date, on which the table of fares, shall come into force with or without modifications as decided by them after consideration of the objections.
