About
The Audit Committee provides independent assurance on the council's governance, financial reporting, and performance. It scrutinises the council's systems of internal control and risk management, and oversees the financial reporting process. The committee also considers the work of both the council's Internal Audit function and its External Auditors, who attend its meetings. Its role ensures the integrity of the council's operations and financial practices.
