Decision taken
 
Cabinet approved:
 
a)   
The direct award of KPMG for the completion of the Housing Benefit
Subsidy Claim Audit, and supplementary works (such as the
completion of workbooks) for the period of the PSAA appointment of
auditors (2023/24 to – 2027/28), and for the outstanding
audit from 2022/23 which would otherwise have been undertaken by
the council’s previous auditors.
 
b)   
That awards be undertaken on an annual basis during this period,
and the decision to award each year be delegated to the Executive
Director (Finance & Transformation).
 
c)   
That their fees will cover conducting the initial checking of the
sample cases, the reperformance checks and completion of workbooks
by KPMG as the most suitable and knowledgeable contractor that can
complete the task in full.
