Decision
That the West of England Mayoral Combined Authority’s Director of Delivery and Operations, in consultation with the equivalent Unitary Authority Directors, has agreed the following changes to the West of England Tech Adoption Pilot project:
1) Project end date to be changed from 29th January 2027 to 30th June 2027,
2) The following milestones to be removed i) 70% of participants on the digital asset platform advice arm satisfied with the advice delivered and ii) achieve a measurable increase in social media engagement and follower growth as a result of the campaign, with results reported to DBT (Department for Business and Trade. Now Department for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade (BIST)).
3) Remove the Grants to SMEs cost heading and reallocate funding to the other remaining cost headings.
4) Total project spend (£988,000) profile to be changed from 25/26 £256,500 & 26/27 £731,500 to 25/26 £107,293, 26/27 £521,256 & 27/28 £359,451. GWE Business West Ltd spend (£940,000) profile to be changed from 25/26 £233,763 & 26/27 £706,237 to 25/26 78,630, 26/27 £505,677 & 27/28 £355,693. (see tabulated below).
5) Number of research trial arms to be reduced from four to two, with the onward (to SMEs) grants and digital asset platform requirements being removed.
6) The following outputs to be changed: Output number 3 to be varied, from: increase the number of SME networking events to 40 events to increase the number of SME networking event to 10 events; Output number 6, Boost signups to the Digital Asset Platform by 40% by December 2025, to be removed; Output number 7, Expand those recruited onto the recruitment trial by using social media and other streams of online presence, to be removed.
