Purpose
In July 2024, the Cabinet
Member for Highways and Transport
approved the commencement of the procurement exercise for the
provision of Lots 1 (Core Maintenance) and 2 (Drainage Cleansing)
and delegated authority to the Assistant Director (Highways,
Transport and Planning) to award the contracts.
Decision
The Assistant Director (Highways, Transport
and Planning) has awarded the contracts for the provision of
service for Highway Maintenance Lots 1 (Core Maintenance) and 2
(Drainage Cleansing) to the respective bidders set out below
–
Lot 1 – Highways Maintenance
Core Services: VolkerHighways Limited – to an estimated
combined annual revenue and capital spend of £16.5million
aligned to annual funding availability that the County Council will
direct through the contract. The contract is to commence 1 April
2025 for an initial period of seven years with an option to enter
into extensions up to a maximum contract duration of fourteen
years.
Lot 2 – Highways Drainage
Maintenance Services: FM Conway Limited – to an estimated
combined annual revenue and capital spend of £4.2million
aligned to annual funding availability that the County Council will
direct through the contract. The contract is to commence 1 April
2025 for an initial period of seven years with an option to enter
into extensions up to a maximum contract duration of fourteen
years.
