County Hall - Essential Maintenance and Refurbishment FP14 (24/25)
February 11, 2025 Cabinet Member for Finance and Property (Cllr Jeremy Hunt) (Cabinet member) Key decision Approved View on council websiteFull council record
Purpose
After lifting of the Covid
restrictions in spring 2022, the County Council has continued with
hybrid working arrangements for its office based staff. It has reduced its office accommodation by
vacating the Grange office building on the Chichester County Hall
campus and will also vacate the Northleigh office building and move
all Chichester County Hall campus staff into the main County Hall
building.
In doing so, there is a need to
carry out essential maintenance and refurbishment works to the
County Hall building, in particular to the toilets, the heating
system, to rationalise the staff kitchen facilities and undertake
some general redecoration.
Decision
The Cabinet Member for Finance and Property,
in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Support Services and
Economic Development, has approved –
(1)the allocation of £7.764m
capital funding for the delivery of the refurbishment of County
Hall, Chichester, to bring the building up to a modern standard;
(2)the award by the Assistant
Director (Property and Assets) of the contract, or contracts, at
the conclusion of the procurement process in accordance with the
evaluation and tender requirements described and within the
financial parameters set out in the report, for delivery of the
works; and
(3)that the Northleigh building,
once staff have relocated to a refurbished County Hall, and The
Grange (already vacated), are decommissioned and declared surplus
to operational requirements.
