Purpose

School (QE2) in Horsham is a Special School serving the area of
Horsham and the north of the county, providing education placements
for children with severe and profound and multiple learning
difficulties.

In March 2023 the then Cabinet
Member for Learning and Skills approved the budget required to
enable the phased establishment of a satellite site to Queen
Elizabeth II Silver Jubilee school (QE2) to provide additional
pupil places (decision
LS11 (22/23) refers). The County Council’s
Multi-Disciplinary Consultant have been appointed to undertake the
full design of the satellite site, to be sited at Arun House, a
building located less than 2 miles from QE2 school.

The new accommodation will
provide up to 60 additional places increasing the school's capacity
for 15 to 19 year-olds from the current 120 to 180 planned
places.

Decision LS11(22/23) also
approved the commencement of a procurement process to seek a
contractor to undertake the necessary adaptation works to enable
Arun House to be used as a satellite site. A procurement process
has been undertaken, and approval is now sought to award the
construction works contract for the establishment of the satellite
site to QE2 School.

has approved the award of the construction contract to Fowler
Building Contractors Limited for the delivery of the satellite site
for Queen Elizabeth II Silver Jubilee School at Arun House, as set
