Extra Care Commissioning Arrangements AS5 (24/25)
March 11, 2025 Cabinet Member for Adults Services (Cllr Amanda Jupp) (Cabinet member) Key decision Approved View on council websiteFull council record
Purpose
West Sussex County Council (WSCC) commissions
the provision of care and support at seventeen Extra Care schemes
in West Sussex. Extra Care schemes combine accommodation with care
and support services. Schemes are varied in their offer with many
providing onsite communal facilities such as a restaurant, health
and beauty rooms, gardens and activity rooms. All have an
onsite care team which provide both planned calls and a 24/7
emergency response.
It is intended that arrangements are put in
place to extend the existing care and support service contracts to
ensure that they are coterminous. A full procurement process to
reprocure these services will then follow at the end of the
extended term.
Decision
The Cabinet Member for Adults Services has
approved;
1)
Extra Care recommissioning as outlined in section 2 of this report;
and
2)
the extension of the current Dynamic Purchasing System for Extra
Care for a further two
years up to and including 30 September 2027.
