Grattons Drive, Crawley - Waiting Restrictions HT24 (24/25)
March 24, 2025 Cabinet Member for Highways and Transport (Cllr Joy Dennis) (Cabinet member) Approved View on council websiteFull council record
Purpose
The County Council received an
application from local residents for a new Traffic Regulation Order
(TRO) to introduce parking restrictions on Grattons Drive. The road
has a narrow width and is located in a residential area on a bend
in the road next to playing fields. There are reports that during
sporting events, the road, footways and grass verge are frequently
blocked by inconsiderate drivers.
Inconsiderate parking can
obstruct forward visibility for other drivers & pedestrians and
for children trying to cross the road safely to the playing fields.
The application has been assessed and demonstrated a level of local
support via a petition sufficient for the proposals to go forward
to statutory consultation and public advertisement.
The proposals were advertised
between 7 and 29 August 2024. Eight objections to
the proposed scheme were received which have been summarised and
responded to in Appendix B to this report.
Decision
The Cabinet Member for Highways and Transport,
having considered the objections to the proposals, authorises the
Director of Law & Assurance to make the Traffic Regulation
Order as advertised and for the restrictions as set out in section
2 of the report to be implemented.
