Decision
Following
consideration of the report, Cabinet resolved:
1.
That appointments are no longer made by the County Council to the
outside bodies listed in Appendix A and that they be deleted from
the list.
2.
The outside bodies listed in Appendix B are confirmed, including
any additions, to which the Cabinet, Cabinet Members or Committees
appoint as set out in that table and that each of these
appointments be an approved duty for which expenses can be
claimed.
3.
Appointments are made by the Cabinet and Cabinet Members to the
outside bodies as shown in Appendix B, subject to the below
amendments, until the next County Council election, with a maximum
term of 4 years, unless a different timeframe is stated:
a.
Sussex Police & Crime Panel
– Cllr Mitchell to replace Cllr
Ali
b.
Sussex University Annual Forum – Executive Director of
Place Services to replace Cllr Marshall.
4.
That the following additional appointments are made to the
vacancies as set out in Appendix B:
a.
Chichester Growth Board – Cllr Oakley to fill
vacancy
b.
Gatwick Airport Consultative Committee –
Cllr Waight to fill substitute vacancy
c.
Littlehampton Harbour Board –
Cllr Paul Bicknell (Arun District Council) to
fill vacancy
d.

fill substitute vacancy
e.

f.
West Sussex Standing Advisory Council on Religious Education
– Cllr Sparkes to fill vacancy
The call-in deadline is 12 June 2025
2 July 2025: The Police and Crime Panel, to which
appointments are made by the Leader, has one substantive
appointment made for the electoral term, as well as a second
appointment which is appointed to on a yearly basis subject to
political proportionality of the Panel. There is also one
substitute appointed. Appendix B
omitted the yearly appointment and therefore the Executive Director
of Law, Assurance and Insight has approved the increase of number
of appointments to the Police and Crime Panel to two (and one substitute) and Appendix B has been
updated to reflect this change.
All other elements remain unchanged
from the 3 June decision report.
