Purpose

The report recommends that that the
County Council submits a response to Mid Sussex District
Council’s Haywards Heath Town Community Governance Review
consultation. The response has been prepared by the Governance
Committee’s advisory Electoral Review Panel.

The urgency of this matter is due to the
deadline for the consultation being 8 August 2025 and the next
meeting of the Governance Committee is not scheduled until
September 2025.

The Executive Director of Law, Assurance
and Insight has made a decision to approve the response, in
consultation with Cllr Pieter Montyn, the Chairman of the
Governance Committee, in accordance with Standing Order
3.45.
 

Decision

That the proposed
response to Mid Sussex District Council’s consultation as
outlined in Appendix A be approved for submission.
