Purpose
Sidlesham Primary School is a
school located in the village of Sidlesham for pupils aged from 4-11. The school has
a published admission number of 20 with a total capacity of 140
pupils (5 classrooms).
Significant structural defects
have been discovered in a teaching block constructed in the 1930s
which incorporates 3 classrooms and a nurture room. A feasibility
study has therefore been undertaken to consider the permanent
replacement of the life expired accommodation.
In response to the outcome of
the feasibility study it is proposed to replace this block with a
new building incorporating 4 classrooms. Temporary accommodation
would be hired and installed at the site whilst the works are
undertaken to ensure the school can continue to operate during the
construction project.
Approval is now sought for the
allocation of capital funding to develop the design and deliver the
project for replacement accommodation at Sidlesham Primary School.
