Full council record
Purpose
Crawley Borough Council manages
a portfolio of parks and open spaces including Goffs Park. Due to
its proximity to the town centre and railway station the Goffs Park
Lower car park area is routinely being used for long-stay commuter
parking to the detriment of genuine park users.
Crawley Borough Council propose
to introduce parking charges so that the Goffs Park Lower car park
will be utilised as a short-stay parking facility. The parking
charges cannot be introduced without the consent of West Sussex
County Council.
Decision
The Cabinet Member for Highways
and Transport authorises the Executive Director of Law, Assurance
and Insight to give formal consent to Crawley Borough Council,
allowing them to introduce controls on the use of the Goffs Park
Lower Car Park as detailed in this report, subject to the condition
detailed in section 4.4.
