Purpose

The provision of traffic
signals maintenance is critical to ensuring the County Council can
meet its statutory duty to maintain the highways and to ensure
that, in maintaining traffic signals and associated infrastructure,
takes such measures as appropriate to ensure the expeditious
movement of traffic on the authority's road network.
 
The maintenance contract
awarded for these services in 2016 is due to end in September 2026,
and a new contract is required.
