Decision

In April 2025 a decision (OKD42 (24/25)) was
taken to award Hospital Discharge Care (HDC) contracts in North and
Coastal South geographical lots. However, the tender process for
Coastal West was unsuccessful. A new procurement exercise, for this
area concluded in January 2026 and the Executive Director of
Adults’ Services & Health has approved the award of two
new contracts to provide HDC Services in Lot 3A Coastal West-
Chichester and Lot 3B Coastal West- Bognor Regis. The contracts are
for an initial period of two years from 1 April 2026 to 31 March
2028 with the option to extend for a further period or periods of
two years until 31 March 2030. The total block hours will cost
£374K per annum for which funding has been secured for
2026/27. Additional ‘buffer’ hours up to a maximum of
£1.855 per annum are also included, but these will only be
purchased as required and subject to additional funding being
available and agreed.
