Purpose
The Weald School is a co-educational secondary school with a sixth form situated in Billingshurst, West Sussex. It caters for around 1700 pupils in years 7-13 including its sixth form.
The school has an under-used canteen and part of it is currently being utilised as a very basic dance studio. It is proposed that S106 developer contributions, that are for specific use at The Weald School, fund the demolition of the canteen and replacement with an activity studio, repurposed rooms and a new build consisting of ICT Suite, and ancillary spaces.
Authority is now sought to allocate this S106 funding to deliver the refurbishments and improvements, which would benefit the school and pupils.
