Purpose

Minor adaptations and essential repairs
provision can help local authorities undertake urgent and
smaller-scale adaptations more quickly. This category of services
is legislated for under the Care Act 2014 with a duty on local
authorities with social care duties to fund minor adaptations up to
a value of £1,000. West Sussex County Council (WSCC)
currently works in partnership with the seven district and borough
councils across the county to commission a minor adaptations
service from Concept Design Solutions (CDS). Following a compliant
procurement process, the Council is in  position to award the Minor Adaptations
contract.

Decision

The Director of Adults and Health has approved
the award of the Minor Adaptation contract to the incumbent Concept
Design Solutions (CDS) for an initial period of three (3) years
commencing 1 April 2024, with the option to extend for up to
eighteen (18) further months if delivery and performance of the
contract are satisfactory.
