Purpose
Following His Majesty’s
Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services
Report, West Sussex Fire and Rescue
Service (WSFRS) set out its Estates
Improvement Plan, which is part of the Community Risk
Management Plan 2022/26. In January 2022 a Key
Decision was taken (CSFR03
(21/22)) by the Cabinet Member for Community
Support, Fire and Rescue approving the prioritised set of asset
improvement projects to enable works on welfare improvements,
contamination remediation, accessibility and community/training
areas.
To complete Phase 1, the
project requires additional funds from the proposed budget
allocated to Estates Improvement in the current 5-year Capital
Programme (2023/24 – 2027/28).
Decision
The Cabinet Member for Community Support, Fire
and Rescue has approved;
(1)
a Capital allocation of up to £3.15m to target delivery of
estates improvements at phase 1 fire stations;
(2)
the commencement of a procurement process to enable prioritised
works as set out in section 2 of the report; and
(3)
the delegated authority to the Assistant Director (Property and
Assets) to award contracts for the works on completion of the
procurement process.
