Purpose
The Child and Adolescent Multi-disciplinary
Service (CHAMPS) delivers psychological services across a range of
needs with the largest cohort being Children we Care For.
The CHAMPS contract was awarded to Sussex
Partnership Foundation Trust (SPFT) for an initial period of three
years from 1 October 2019 with an option for an extension of a
further 2 years. The Director of
Children, Young People and Learning approved the extension of the
CHAMPS contract with SPFT for a year until end of September 2023
(Decision
OKD53 (22/23) refers) whilst a review was completed to consider
the potential options for future delivery of the service.
A review of options for the delivery of the
service has now been undertaken and it is proposed to insource the
service to the County Council from 1 December 2023.
Decision
The Cabinet Member for Children and Young
People, Learning and Skills has approved:
(1)The in-sourcing of
the Child and Adolescent Multi-disciplinary Service to the County
Council, from 1 December 2023 as set out in section 2 of the
report.
(2)An application by
the County Council to the NHS Pension Scheme for a closed direction
to enable the staff of Sussex Partnership Foundation Trust in post
at the point of in-sourcing to remain in the scheme whilst becoming
County Council employees.
