Purpose

The Statement of Community
Involvement (SCI) is a formal statement of the County Council's
policy about how local communities and stakeholders can be
actively, meaningfully and continuously involved in the preparation
of local plans, and in the consideration of planning applications
that the County Council is responsible for determining.

Planning regulations require
that SCIs are reviewed every five years.  The SCI (third review) was adopted in September
2018 and, therefore, a review is taking place.

Engagement on the contents of
the third review of the SCI started in July and will end in September 2023,
then the SCI will be amended as necessary and
finalised.
