Purpose

This report concerns proposed
leasing arrangements for a property for the purpose of housing a
number of individuals and households for whom the council has
relevant responsibilities.  The funding, to cover
the anticipated cost of lease and the procurement of a provider has
been provided to the Council from central
government.
 
Due to the need for this matter
to be determined as soon as possible, the decision maker has secured agreement from the
Communities, Highways and Environment Scrutiny Chairman
for this decision to
be taken without prior notice in the Forward Plan of key decisions
(as per the County Council’s Constitution - Part 4, Section
1, Standing Order 3.57 (Regulation 11), because delay would
prejudice the County Council’s interests in needing to comply
with the new requirements of the Home Office.  This decision is urgent to ensure that we enter
into the agreement as West Sussex County Council are operating
within a competitive and commercial market.
 
 
 

Decision

The Assistant Director (Communities) has
approved leasing arrangements and the procurement and award of
contract to a housing provider. (Report restricted to members
