Purpose

Following a review of
applications for starting secondary school in the Bognor Regis and
Felpham area it is
necessary to provide for a bulge class of 30 pupils at The
Regis School for September 2023 to ensure sufficient places are
available for those starting secondary school.

To enable the school to
accommodate the temporary increase in pupil numbers a project is
required to provide additional dining facilities. This project will
be undertaken by the school and funded by the County Council  from S106 funds
which have been received specifically for creating additional
capacity at The Regis School.

The Assistant Director
(Property and Assets) will be asked to approve the budget required
and the passporting of S106 funds to The Regis School to secure a
contractor for delivering the expansion project at The Regis
School.

Decision

The Assistant Director  (Property and Assets) has approved;

1)
the passporting of £620,000 of received S106 funds to The
Regis School in accordance with the relevant Section 106 Agreements
to fund the work outlined in Section 2 of the report, and
2)
the settlement and completion of a conditional Development and
Funding Agreement with the Academy Trust as a condition for the
transfer of the funds.
