Purpose

A Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) application
has been made to the County Council from Lindfield Primary Academy
with evidence of support from the local community. The request
proposed new parking restrictions to improve safety &
visibility to prevent traffic obstruction and pedestrian conflict
on a main road in the vicinity of the school.
 
This application was considered and approved
for progression in March 2023.
 
The proposals were advertised between 16 March and 6 April 2023. Eight objections to the
proposed scheme along with five comments of support were received
which have been summarised and responded to in Appendix B to this
report.
 
The local member for Lindfield
& High Weald, Cllr Garry Wall has reviewed comments
following public advertisement and supports the TRO to be
implemented as advertised.
 

Decision

The Cabinet Member for Highways and Transport,
having considered the objections to the proposals, authorises the
Director of Law & Assurance to make the Traffic Regulation
Order as advertised and for the restrictions (as set out in section
2 of the report) to be implemented.
