Traffic Signals Halogen Replacement Programme HT04 (23/24)
July 14, 2023 Cabinet Member for Highways and Transport (Cllr Joy Dennis) (Cabinet member) Key decision Approved View on council websiteFull council record
Purpose
The halogen replacement project
aims to convert all remaining traffic signals assets within West
Sussex, which currently operate using halogen bulbs, to an LED bulb
variant. This is following confirmation
by the term maintenance contractor that the production of halogen
bulbs ceased in September 2022.
In February 2023, the County
Council approved a budget of £6.5m for the replacement
programme.
The Cabinet Member for Highways
and Transport will be asked to confirm the capital allocation for
the project and approve the procurement process via the existing
traffic signals term maintenance contract.
Decision
The Cabinet Member for Highways and Transport
has approved:
1)
a £6.5m capital allocation for the implementation of the
Traffic Signals Halogen Replacement Programme and;
2)
procurement of the Traffic Signals Halogen Replacement Programme
through the current ten-year Traffic Signals Maintenance Contract,
with award of work for the programme to contractors Telent
Technology Services Limited.
