April 25, 2023 Cabinet Member for Learning and Skills (Cllr Nigel Jupp) (Cabinet member) Key decision Approved View on council websiteFull council record
Purpose
The Angmering School is a secondary school
which caters for over 1300 pupils. The
main physical education sports hall at the school has a corrugated
asbestos sheet roof that has reached the end of life and requires
replacement.
The works required to replace the roof are
high priority; therefore, it is proposed to deliver a project at
the school which, in addition to the re-roof, will include a new
sports hall ceiling, associated cabling and lighting.
Approval is now sought to allocate the
necessary funding from the school capital maintenance block for
this project to enable it to proceed.
Decision
The Cabinet Member for Learning and Skills has
approved:
(1)The allocation of
£700,000 from the School Capital Maintenance Block Programme
to fund the planned capital maintenance project to replace the
sports hall roof at The Angmering School.
(2)The authorisation to
commence a procurement process and delegation to the Assistant
Director (Property and Assets) to approve the subsequent contract
award for carrying out the works.
