Purpose

Outside bodies are external organisations, including formal or informal partnerships to which the County Council is a party and to which the Council expects to make appointments or which have requested that the County Council appoint an elected member or a representative to them.  Following the County Council elections in May 2026, all previous Outside Body appointments ceased and now require appointment for a new term to align with the County Council’s electoral cycle.

Decision

That the Cabinet Member for Economy and Skills has approved the appointment of:

(1) Cllr Caroline Ward to the Gatwick Airport Consultative Committee until the next County Council election, with a maximum term of 4 years.

(2)Cllr Brian Quinn as a substitute to the Gatwick Airport Consultative Committee until the next County Council election, with a maximum term of 4 years.
