Decision

Thakeham Primary School is a primary school based in Thakeham, near Storrington, catering for pupils aged 4-11 years old with a published admission number (PAN) of 15. Not all the accommodation at the school is currently required meaning there is surplus accommodation available at the site.

To help meet the growing demand for additional pupil places for children with SEND the County Council’s SEND Sufficiency Plan includes the requirement to establish a Primary Specialist Inclusion Base (SIB) within the Horsham District. It is therefore proposed to use the surplus accommodation to establish a SIB for children with social communication needs at Thakeham Primary School for 8 children for the start of the academic year 2028/9. A consultation to seek feedback from key stakeholders on the proposal is now required.

The Service Director (Education and Skills) has approved the commencement of a consultation to seek views on the proposal to establish a Specialist Inclusion Base at Thakeham Primary School.
