Purpose
The Arun
Growth Programme (2018) identified public realm improvements along
the section of the Esplanade, between Lennox Street and Clarence
Road, for a highway and landscape improvement scheme. The Director of Place Services confirmed
progression to the detailed design stage of the project in April
2022 (SSED04
21-22). This project will tie in
with wider Growth Programme priorities along the seafront such as
the Arun District Council-led renovation of the Alexandra Theatre,
the Regis Centre and the adjacent Place St Maur completed
improvements. Seafront plans also include upgrades to the Bognor
Regis Arcade and private investment for a new seafront Premier Inn
hotel.
