Purpose

West Sussex County Council
received an application for a new Traffic Regulation Order (TRO)
from Rudgwick Parish Council, expressing concern about vehicle
speeds through The Haven, Rudgwick.
 
The application was for speed
reduction to 40mph throughout the whole road. The Parish
Council’s application provided evidence of resident support.
Sussex Police and the local member Cllr Christian Mitchell both
support the proposal.
 
The proposed restriction was
advertised between 9 and 29 February 2024. Ten objections to the
proposed scheme were received, along with support from sixteen
residents throughout.  All
representations and the County Council’s responses are
summarised in Appendix B.
 

Decision

The Cabinet Member for Highways and Transport,
having considered the objections to the proposals, has authorised
the Director of Law and Assurance to make the Traffic Regulation
Order as set out in section 2 of the report.
