Orchard House is a Children’s Home in Cuckfield, that in addition to the main building, includes a Contact Centre for supervised contact to take place between children and families. Cabinet Member approval has been provided to procure contracts to carry out the remodelling and refurbishment works to the home, including a new modular Contact Centre - decision CYP04 (21/22) refers. Capital funding for the project has also been approved- decision CYPLS14 (24/25) refers.

Following conclusion of the procurement process the Executive Director for Children, Young People and Learning, in consultation with the Service Director (Property and Assets), has approved the award of the construction contract to Sunninghill Construction Ltd for a contract value of £923,636.00 to deliver the new Contact Centre. This is affordable within the allocated budget for this project. This will facilitate services that it’s not been possible to provide at Orchard House in its current situation and assist in accommodating future needs.
