Purpose
The County Council is
responsible for the proactive and reactive kitchen equipment
maintenance in around 200 primary phase schools and special
schools, which are used to enable the provision of school
meals. There is currently no formal
contract in place for the scheduled and reactive maintenance of
this equipment.
It is proposed to let a
contract which would include an annual service visit to each school
to ensure equipment is operating safely and efficiently and
undertake reactive maintenance when a piece of equipment
fails. Following conclusion of a
procurement process approval is now sought to award the contract to
the successful bidder.
Decision
The Assistant Director (Education and Skills)
has approved the award of the contract, as detailed within this
report, to South Coast Catering Ltd, to run from the 01 August 2024
for an initial duration of four (4) years, with the option to
extend the contract for a further one (1) year to a maximum term of
five (5) years, at a total cost not exceeding
£940,000.00.
