Purpose

In line with the County Council’s strategic aims regarding action on climate change, fleet managers are evaluating low carbon options for the corporate fleet operations. This includes the transition of fleet vehicles to low emission options, namely electric vehicles (EV) where possible. To enable this transition in a resilient and cost-effective manner, EV Chargepoints (EVCPs) are required at key locations across the corporate estate.

It is proposed to commence a procurement process for the provision of these EVCPs including all associated back office and operations and maintenance services for a period of up to seven years.

Decision

The Cabinet Member for Environment and Climate Change has –

(1)     approved the capital (£0.387m) and revenue (up to £3m) funding allocations for the proposal as set out in sections 2 and 5 of the report;

(2)     approved the commencement of the procurement process for corporate Electric Vehicle ChargePoints up to a total potential contract value of £3m; and

(3)     delegated authority to the Assistant Director (Environment and Public Protection) to award the contract.
