Purpose
West Sussex County Council
(WSCC) has a contract with Essex Cares Limited (ECL) for the
provision of Community Reablement Services. Reablement is the term
to describe services to support residents following a change in
ability, most likely due to a medical condition or episode. A
Community Reablement Service (CRS) is essential to prevent people
requiring longer term support, enabling people to retain/regain
independence and remain at home.
The
existing service expires on 31st March 2025. It is
intended that a full procurement process is undertaken to reprocure
this service from 1 April 2025.
Decision
The Cabinet Member for Adults Services has
approved;
1)
the commencement of a procurement of a Community
Reablement Service as set out in the report for an initial period
of 4 years with the option to extend for up to a further 2 years
(up to a maximum contract duration of 6 years) and;
2)
the delegation of authority to the Director of
Adults and Health (DASS) to award the contract to the successful
bidder.
